Grand Teton National Park is located in northwestern Wyoming just south of Yellowstone National Park and just north of the town of Jackson.  The Grand Teton rises to 13,770 feet above sea level and 12 other peaks reach above 12,000 feet in elevation.

Snow run-off creates streams that flow into larger lakes at the bottom of the mountain range.  The Tetons average about 176″ of snowfall a year.

There is a National Elk Refuge here.   It was established in 1912 to provide winter habitat and preserve the Jackson elk herd.

Grand Teton National Park offers hiking, camping, climbing, boating, kayaking and numerous photography opportunities.
